Keyboard countermelody after “You’ve got it made,” etc. You’ve got it made You’re a rabble rousin, smooth talkin son of a gun Ya got some lemonade It’s a bittersweet treat for your family I never thought I’d see the day You’d take a sip and I’d watch it drip down your gizzard A beautiful charade If I lost it then I’m slippin if I got it then I’m trippin You’ve got it made Yeah, you’re sitting in the corner, it wreaks of comic karma, but It’s just a game You got one hand on the controlla, the others on the border It’s a very very lovely day To set a fire by the bayou, lil baby’s in the pyre Such a lonely day When the ire stops burning, tell me what did you earn then? I’m not gonna fuel a fire that‘s better off to quench I’m not gonna offer you no plea Cause I’d rather walk through hell than be one more live to squelch Yeah, I’d rather die than feed your greed. You’ve got it made You’ve been sittin so pretty in your peculiar city I’m still amazed You got the audacity to chat with the masses, But I never knew you anyway, I never sat with no asses and I ain’t startin with ya bastards Go about your day, I’m not a match for your gasoline, I’m water rushing up the stream I’m not gonna stand by and watch you burn the light away I’m not gonna watch your smile flicker in the flame I’m not gonna stand by and watch you burn the light away I’m not gonna join you in your dance

who are you to say what lengths are too far?and who are you to say whose life matters or not? will we see the day where the disenfranchised don’t have to fight for their lives and will we see the day where freedom rings and 400 years of oppression can stop i know you’re exhausted from trying to live and I know you’ve had taken from you more than you had to give pull up your goggles and tighten your mask protect those around you, run when you see gas steal from the rich, and take to the streets never let them forget, no justice, no peace
5.
You cannot undo Mistakes that you have made And so you make it through A different way Locked in this tower We can decide To climb our own hair Skip the stairs Who cares where we’re going As long as we get there You cannot undo The stakes that you have raised And so you make it through A brand new phase Yesterday seemed like a good day to change But tomorrow will have to do No ones coming to save the girl No ones fighting to save the work As long as we get there As long we get there Who cares?

about

A compilation album featuring tracks from Bodytrip, Mason Hodge, ACoS, Monty Crystal, and Fabulous Fabulist. We all met through the Portugal. The Man subreddit and formed Waiters and Writers as a way to trade feedback on our individual music and to collaborate together. Waiters and Writers: Vol. 1 is our first project together. All proceeds gained from this project will be donated to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund in support of the Black Lives Matter Movement. Cover artwork was done by our friend and fellow redditor @arklart on instagram.
